Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce
Thirdstory Collective partnered with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce to modernize its visual identity and digital presence through a logo redesign, website redevelopment, strategic messaging, and custom photography and video integration that better reflected the energy and character of the community.

The Challenge
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce needed a refreshed brand and digital experience that better represented the city it serves. While the organization played a vital role in supporting local businesses and economic growth, its existing website, visual identity, and messaging did not fully capture Nashville's unique blend of commerce, culture, and community.
The challenge was to create a professional and approachable experience that could effectively serve businesses, residents, visitors, and prospective investors while showcasing the vibrant spirit of Music City and clearly communicating the Chamber's value to its members.
Our Approach & Solution
We began by evaluating the Chamber's existing brand, messaging, and digital presence to identify opportunities for improvement. Our goal was to create a cohesive identity that balanced professionalism with personality while strengthening the connection between the Chamber and the community it represents.
The project included:
- Logo redesign and brand refinement
- Strategic messaging development
- Website design and development
- User experience and navigation improvements
- Custom graphic design elements
- Visual content strategy
- Photography and video integration
As part of the rebrand, we redesigned the Chamber's logo to reflect the intersection of business, culture, and community that defines Nashville. The mark incorporates the silhouette of the iconic AT&T Building—commonly known as the "Batman Building"—one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Running through the center is the flag and stem of a musical note, paying tribute to Nashville's identity as Music City, while the surrounding negative space subtly forms the notehead itself. Together, these elements create a distinctive visual identity that celebrates both Nashville's economic strength and cultural heritage.
Beyond the visual identity, we partnered with Chamber leadership to evolve the organization's messaging. The previous slogan, "Building on the best from yesterday for a better tomorrow," honored Nashville's history and tradition, but did not fully communicate the Chamber's active role in helping members grow and succeed. To create a more actionable and member-focused brand promise, we developed the new positioning statement:
Belong. Engage. Lead. Prosper.
This messaging framework was designed to reflect the Chamber member journey—from becoming part of a thriving business community, to actively participating and building relationships, to developing leadership opportunities, and ultimately achieving growth and success. The new messaging shifted the focus from celebrating the past to empowering businesses and individuals to help shape Nashville's future.
To further bring the story to life, we partnered with Andrew Keithly Photography to capture custom photography and aerial video footage highlighting Nashville's businesses, landmarks, and community assets. These visuals were strategically incorporated throughout the website to create a stronger sense of place and provide visitors with a more immersive experience.
The final design combined clean layouts, intentional use of color, engaging graphic elements, and dynamic imagery to create a website that felt modern, welcoming, and unmistakably Nashville.
Results & Impact
The redesigned website provided the Chamber with a modern platform capable of better serving its members while promoting Nashville as a thriving place to live, work, and invest. The updated visual identity, refined messaging, and custom imagery created a stronger first impression and helped communicate the Chamber's mission with greater clarity and impact.
The project helped:
- Modernize the Chamber's brand and online presence
- Establish a memorable visual identity rooted in Nashville's culture and business community
- Create a stronger and more actionable messaging framework
- Improve website usability and navigation
- Enhance engagement through custom photography and aerial video
- Strengthen the Chamber's ability to communicate its value to current and prospective members
Conclusion
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce project demonstrates how strategic branding extends far beyond a logo or website. Through a refreshed visual identity, a new messaging platform, immersive imagery, and a modern digital experience, Thirdstory Collective helped create a cohesive brand that reflects Nashville's unique character while supporting the Chamber's mission of fostering business growth, leadership, and community engagement.
